How to mail postcards to fire leads with PostGrid
FirstLeads integrates with PostGrid so you can put a branded postcard in the mailbox of every fire-damaged property — automatically the moment a fire is confirmed, or on demand from any lead.
Quick Answer
To connect PostGrid to FirstLeads, create a PostGrid account, design a postcard template, copy your API key from dashboard.postgrid.com, then paste it into FirstLeads under Settings → Mailers. Postcards are sent through your own PostGrid account and billed by PostGrid directly — FirstLeads does not charge per-postcard credits. Once connected, you can send postcards on demand or add a PostGrid channel to an alert to mail them automatically on confirmed fires.
Set up PostGrid in 6 steps
Create your PostGrid account
Sign up at postgrid.com. Postcards are sent through your own PostGrid account, so you keep control of your branding and are billed by PostGrid directly.
Design your postcard template
In PostGrid, build a postcard template — your “mailer.” Your logo, message, and return address all live on the template, and it’s ready to mail as soon as you save it.
Copy your PostGrid API key
In your PostGrid dashboard, open Settings → API keys at dashboard.postgrid.com and copy a key (use a test key to trial, a live key to mail for real). This lets FirstLeads send postcards on your behalf.
Connect it in FirstLeads
In FirstLeads, open Settings → Integrations → Mailers (PostGrid), paste your API key, and click Connect account. FirstLeads never charges per-postcard credits — you are billed by PostGrid directly.
Set send limits (optional)
Add a daily and/or monthly cap in Mailers settings so automated sends never exceed your budget. Leave them blank to use the platform defaults.
Send a postcard — or automate it
Send a one-off postcard to any fire address from the lead detail, or add a PostGrid channel to an alert so a postcard mails automatically the moment a fire is confirmed.
Where’s my API key? It lives in your PostGrid dashboard under Settings → API keys — dashboard.postgrid.com. PostGrid provides both test and live keys.
Automate postcards on confirmed fires
Add a PostGrid channel to any alert and pick a postcard template. When a fire is confirmed, FirstLeads mails a postcard to the property addressed to “Current Resident” — no manual step, no skip trace required.
- One postcard per confirmed lead — automatic de-duplication, so you never double-mail an address.
- Your daily and monthly caps apply to automatic sends too.
- Every send is logged in your Mailers history with its delivery status.
